Webster's definition of vacation is: A time set aside from work, study, etc., for recreation or rest; a holiday. We just came home from vacation in Colorado Springs last week. It is easy to understand how another term for vacation is "a get away" because we get away from our regular routines.
As we gazed upon the magnificence and beauty of God's creation, while in the Springs, it was easy to reflect on how the mountains, the rocks, the colors, textures will remain while our lives on earth disappear. On deeper thought we realized that even the mountains that were placed there can be moved by God because He can do whatever He wants, however and wherever He chooses. His power is enormous!
Psalm 139:14b...Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Nehemiah 9:6 You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas ans all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship You.
Matthew 19:26...With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Romans 11:36 Everything comes from You; everything happens through You; everything ends up in You. Always glory! Always praise! Yes, yes, yes.
How truly proud we are of Crystal and Jeremiah and the life they have made together, with their dog Starbucks, in the Springs. It seems like we were just hugging, crying and watching the moving truck leave our driveway; yet it's nearly three years since that milestone day. When children are growing up it's hard to imagine that one day they won't need us as parents. When that time comes our relationship transforms and our love expands like a huge, rubber band that never breaks.
