TRUST

This month I was reminded of the verse that is in the center of the Bible: Psalm 118:8. There are 594 verses before this one and 594 verses after. Interesting to note this totals 1188. More interesting is what the verse commands: “It is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in people.” The Amplified Bible reads “It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” No matter the outcome of the upcoming election God already knows, He is still in control and His plans are perfect. The election offers us choices and it is our responsibility to vote. There are three main points in my perspective: 1. (keep) COUNTRY (safe) 2. LIFE (protect and defend) 3. FAMILY (marriage, children, provision). We can trust and take refuge in the larger scope (election, war, Dow Jones) and smaller scope (My husband Eddie’s recent hernia surgery recovery) because God is in the details. James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” Seek His wisdom, follow through on your responsibility to vote and trust in the Master of the Universe.
