Breaking Tradition

Okay, so we broke tradition and did not write an annual Christmas card greeting or even send out Christmas cards. I wonder if anyone missed it. When something becomes just a “motion” the heart is missing from the intent; it is a chore, a task on the “to do” list, then it’s time for a change.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by combining it with Christmas and New Years and went to Disney World during Eddie’s Christmas vacation. It was a dream times seven:
1. Romantic
2. Relaxing
3. Refreshing
4. Reflective
5. Renewing
6. Refueling
7. Re-energizing

Waking each morning of the 12 days felt like we were ditching life. For those of you who watch Survivor on TV it was like winning a reward challenge because it was a short escape from the game except the “game” for us was the reality of life. While we were away on our “island” life in the world continued…
- Denver had 2 snow storms
- Saddam Hussein sentence of death by hanging occurred
- Former President Gerald Ford died
- Another death in a school shooting in Washington
- Soldiers battle for freedom and peace
- Choices were made daily that affect others
- People traveled to be with family and friends for the holidays
- Prayers were answered
- 2006 slipped into 2007
- God is still God

As we begin a new year we want to remember the attention or neglect of our relationships (God, family, friends, others) is evident in the quality of our lives. May we all experience the utmost, highest quality and offer thanksgiving for each new day.
